Alton Eugene Hughes, 72, loving husband of Brenda Gale Hughes of 190 Beaver Dam Church Road went home to be with the Lord, Thursday, March 15, 2018 at his home.

Born August 9, 1945 in Spartanburg County, he was a son of the late Herbert Julus Hughes and Nancy Hall Hughes Barnett. He was retired from Piedmont Di-Electric, a U.S. Army National Guard veteran and a member of Enoree Church of God.

Surviving in addition to his wife are daughters, Tracie Bell and husband Tim of Donalsonville, GA, Gena Varner and husband Nick of Enoree; step-daughters, Robin Kuhrt of Enoree, Pamela Couch of Gaffney; step-son, Billy Laughter of NY; sisters, Lavonda Stonell of Enoree, Sylvia Bell of Sumter; brother, Belvin Hughes of Woodruff; 5 grandchildren and several step-grandchildren and step great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, March 17, 2018 in the Chapel of Lanford-Gwinn Mortuary with Rev. Tim Bell and Rev. Michael Shirley officiating. Burial will follow in Greenhaven Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 3:45 p.m. prior to the service at the mortuary.
