Donna C. Hembree

WOODRUFF- Donna Cobb Hembree, 68, of 114 Forest Drive, Three Pines, met Jesus, Friday, January 27, 2017 at Spartanburg Medical Center.

  A native of Spartanburg County, she was the daughter of the late Eugene “Gene” and Ruby Senn Cobb.  She was a retired from Spartanburg County District Four Schools having served as secretary at Woodruff Middle School and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Woodruff.  She was a member of the Garden Ellas Club, Sunday School Teacher for 1st and 2nd Grades, Acteen Leader and Youth Leader for many years.

  Surviving are her husband, Charles “Molly” Hembree of the home; one daughter, Wendie Hembree (Scott) Lawson of Woodruff; one son, Phil (Kay) Hembree of Woodruff; one sister, Starr (Rev. Landon) Horton of Huntersville, N.C.; one brother, Danny (Yvonne) Cobb of Woodruff; two grandchildren, Graham Lawson and Molly Grayson Lawson; 4 step-grandchildren, Erin Lindler, Emily Lanford, Savannah Bowling and R.J. Bowling; 2 step-grandchildren, John Miles Bowling and Peyton Lanford.  She is also survived by a special niece and nephew, Abby Horton and Landon Horton Jr. and cherished friends thought of as sisters, Connie Stevens, Cheryl Smith, Debra Varner and Vickie Manley.

  A Celebration of Life Service will be held Monday, January 30, 2017 at 4:00 P.M. at the First Baptist Church of Woodruff by Rev. Andrew Shull, Rev. Steve Ramey and Rev. Landon Horton.

  Visitation will be held from 1:45-3:45 P.M. prior to the service in the church sanctuary.

  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Woodruff First Baptist Church Youth Fund, 801 Cross Anchor Road, Woodruff, S.C. 29388.

  The family is at the residence.
