WOODRUFF- Helen Smith Padgett-Drew, 98, formerly of 426 Lakewood Drive died Thursday, July 20, 2017 at Eden Terrace.
A native of Spartanburg County, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin Franklin and Onnie Brown Smith and was the widow of Eugene Drew and was first married to the late William Edward “Eddie” Padgett. She was a member of Emma Gray Memorial United Methodist Church and was a former member of Grace United Methodist Church where she was former church organist. She was a retired hairdresser having been owner of Helen’s Beauty Shop.
Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Phillip Sawyer of Spartanburg;4 stepsons; 2 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; several step-grandchildren and several step-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be conducted Saturday, July 22, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Bethel Cemetery by Rev. Andy Watson and a Eulogy by Mrs. Roseanne Drew.
Mrs. Padgett will lie in state at Lanford-Gwinn Mortuary from 9:00-10:15 a.m. Saturday, July 22, 2017 for family and friends to pay respects.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Emma Gray Memorial United Methodist Church, 321 West Georgia Street, Woodruff, S.C. 29388.
