WOODRUFF- Rebecca Layton “Unma” Lanford, 87, widow of W. Cebron Lanford, died Friday, February 17, 2017 at McCall Hospice House.
Born February 25, 1929 in Spartanburg County, she was the daughter of the late Lloyd and Blanche Layton. She was retired clerk from Reimer’s Department Store, and a member of First Baptist Church of Woodruff where she was secretary for the Middle School Sunday School class for 62 years.
Surviving are daughters, Jennifer Davis (Terry) of Woodruff, Melanie Watson of Simpsonville; grandchildren, Patty Freeman Vaughn (Trey), Wanda Davis Campbell (Ken), Joshua Robert Philbeck and great-grandchildren, Liam Davis Campbell, Nathan Sol Campbell, Kayla Danyel Philbeck and Tyler Bryson Vaughn.
In addition to her parents and husband she was predeceased by a grandson, Justin Cebron Philbeck and a great-grandson William Jacob Philbeck.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 until 5:00 p.m. Sunday, February 19, 2017 at Lanford-Gwinn Mortuary.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 20, 2017 at First Baptist Church of Woodruff with Rev. Andrew Shull and Rev. Steve Ramey officiating. Burial will follow in Greenhaven Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to First Baptist Church, 801 Cross Anchor Road, Woodruff, SC 29388.
