Sara G. Tollison

WOODRUFF- Sara Godfrey Tollison, 83, formerly of 870 Pinecrest Street died Friday, March 24, 2017 at the home of her daughter, Sara Smith, 209 Grassy Knoll Road, Gaffney.

  She was a native of Laurens County, and the daughter of the late Duckett Godfrey and Tinnie Chesney Godfrey Lanford and was the stepdaughter of Carl Lanford.  She was a homemaker and attended West End Baptist Church. She was the widow of William "Buddy" Tollison.

  Surviving are two daughters, Zandra White of Union and Sara “Kitty” (Daryl) Smith of Gaffney; one sister, Louise Wood of Woodruff; 4 grandchildren, Christine (Kevin) Solesbee, Marc White, Chuck White and Ross (Sarah) Smith.  She was predeceased by a grandson, Robby Lynch and a sister, Carrie Lee Calhoun.

  Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, March 26, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. at Lanford-Gwinn Mortuary Chapel.  Interment will follow in Bellview Baptist Church Cemetery.

  Visitation will be held from 1:00-1:45 P.M. prior to the service.

  In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice Care of South Carolina, 1612 N. Limstone Street, Gaffney, S.C. 29340.

  The family is at their respective homes.
