WOODRUFF- Walter Richard “Dickie” Turner, 77, of 100 Cavins Road died Wednesday, December 6, 2017.
A native of Spartanburg County, he was the son of the late Thomas Madison and Ruby Finch Turner. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Woodruff, a member of Bethel Masonic Lodge #112 and was retired from Woodruff Chevrolet.
Surviving are his wife, Jane Chapman Turner of the home; one daughter, Jennifer (Barry) Brown of Oxford, Georgia; one son, Richard (Sherry) Turner of Woodruff; one sister, Martha Garrett of Simpsonville; two brothers, Tommy Turner of Switzer and Donald Turner of Lebanon, Tennessee; 2 grandchildren, Carla (Jeff) Riley and Joseph Lanford; 1 great-granddaughter, Lilly Lanford and he is also survived by Audrey Jenkins, Jacob Pugh and Tanner Pugh. He was predeceased by a sister, Peggy Reynolds.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, December 9, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Woodruff by Rev. Andrew Shull. Interment will follow in Greenhaven Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be held from 1:00-1:45 p.m. prior to the service in the church sanctuary.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church/Over and Above Fund, 801 Cross Anchor Road, Woodruff.
The family is at the home of his son, Richard Turner, 860 Edwin Lanford Road, Woodruff.
