David Lathen
GRAY COURT- David Lathen, 63, of 4453 Hwy. 101 North died Tuesday, December 25, 2018 at his residence.
A native of Laurens County, he was the son of the late DeWhitt Lathen and was raised by his mother Lillie Ross Redden and Alvis Redden. He was a member of Durbin Creek Baptist Church, a retired textile employee with 38 years of service with Inman Mills and served in the Army National Guard.
Surviving are two sons, David Scott Lathen of Pelzer and Jimmy David Lathen of the home; two sisters, Nancy Koon of Gray Court and Frances Pearson of Pelzer; 3 step-daughters, Waynetta Hyman of Boiling Springs, Kay Arnold of Woodruff and Wanda Elmore of Laurens; 5 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. He was pre-deceased by a sister, Julie Landin.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, December 29, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. at Lanford-Gwinn Mortuary Chapel in Woodruff by Rev. Steve Christopher. A private interment will be held on the family property.
Visitation will be held from 1:00-1:45 p.m. prior to the service.
The family is at the home of his sister and niece, Nancy Koon and Melanie Koon, 144 Chantilly Drive, Gray Court.
