Gene Crocker

ENOREE- Robert Eugene “Gene” Crocker, 72, of 15454 Hwy. 221, passed away Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at his home.

  He was born in Laurens County and was the son of the late Bill and Lillian Lawson Crocker.  He was a member of Enoree First Baptist Church and was a U.S. Army Veteran having served in Vietnam.  He worked all of his life retiring from Michelin after 33 years of service and had worked at Laurens Glass Co., Riverdale Mill and Hanna Oil Company.

  Surviving are his wife, Sarah (Sally) Crocker of the home; two sons, Robert W. Crocker and his wife, Tracie of Woodruff and Joey Crocker of the home; two brothers, Bobby Dean Crocker and Phillip Crocker both of Enoree; two sisters, Gail Crocker and Wanda Capps both of Enoree; 3 grandchildren, Amanda Smith of Woodruff, Megan Crocker of Lyman and Jacob Crocker of Woodruff; one great-granddaughter, Ava Grace Smith and expecting the arrival of another great-granddaughter in February 2019.  He was predeceased by a brother, Ricky Crocker.

  Funeral services will be conducted Friday, November 16, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Lanford-Gwinn Mortuary Chapel by Rev. Andy Moore and Rev. Billie Lawson.  Interment will follow in Greenhaven Memorial Gardens.

  Visitation will be held from 1:00-1:45 p.m. prior to the service.

  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Enoree First Baptist Church, 1150 Parker Road, Enoree, S.C. 29335 or Interim Hospice, 16 Hyland Road, Greenville, S.C. 29615.

  The family would like to give a special thank you to Enoree First Baptist Church, Blessed Hope Church, the staff from Interim Hospice and to Hannah Scott and Wanda Capps for all the help they gave to the family.
