John F. Byars Jr.

WOODRUFF- John Franklin Byars Jr., 74, of 1700 Old Spartanburg Hwy. died Saturday, December 2, 2017.

  A native of Spartanburg County, he was the son of the late John F. Byars Sr. and Nettie Cannon Byars.  He was of the Baptist faith and was a retired truck driver.  He was an avid Nascar fan and had a love for motorcycles and loved his two dogs Obie and Snuggles.

  Surviving are his wife, Deborah Oliver Byars; two daughters, Tonya Byars and Teresa Byars; step-daughter, Sonya Junge; two sons, John Franklin (Ila) Byars III and Brian Byars; stepson, Kenny (Sandy) Plumley; one sister, Mary (Gary) Langen; one brother, Bill Byars; grandchildren, Brittany (Heath) Burrell, Trenton Byars, Scarlett and Chandler Byars, Megan Williamson, Taylor Junge and Adalie Plumley; great-grandchildren, Zade and Sawyer Burrell.  He was predeceased by a son, Johnny (Shawn) Byars.

  A visitation will be held Thursday, December 7, 2017 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Lanford-Gwinn Mortuary.

  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Boys Home of the South, 10612 Augusta Road, Belton, S.C. 29627.
