WOODRUFF- Myrtle Morton Vaughn, 94, formerly of 442 Buncombe Street died Tuesday, November 13, 2018.

  She was born in Greenville County, May 27, 1924 to the late Lillie Belle Tiner and was reared by her grandmother, Eliza West Tiner.  She was the widow of Grady Vaughn and was first married to the late James “Buck” Morton.  She was a member of Antioch Baptist Church and was a retired textile employee with Abney Mill and Reeves Bros.

  Surviving are one son, Johnny Ray Morton of Woodruff; one daughter, Jean Morton Jones of Millbrook, Alabama; 6 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a very special friend, Shirley Satterfield of Woodruff.  She was predeceased by a son, James “Jimmy” Morton.

  Graveside services will be conducted Saturday, November 17, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Greenhaven Memorial Gardens by Rev. Buster Ball and Rev. Andy Parker.

  Visitation will be held from 12:30-1:45 p.m. prior to the graveside service at Lanford-Gwinn Mortuary.

  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
