Paul R. Stewart

WOODRUFF- Paul Riley Stewart, 65, of 299 Edgewood Circle passed away Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at Spartanburg Medical Center.

  A native of Greenville County, he was the son of Otis Floyd and Cora Bledsoe Stewart of the home.  He was a 1971 graduate of Woodruff High School, a 1975 graduate of Wofford College where he received a Bachelor’s of Arts Degree and was a member of the Rifle Team and assisted in the Library, he also attended the University of South Carolina and was formerly employed with SLED.  As a child and throughout his adult life Paul was affiliated with Emma Gray Memorial United Methodist Church.

  Surviving are one sister, Jane Stewart Moore of Beaufort; one brother, James “Jim” Stewart of Woodruff; 2 nieces, Leigh (Joe) Blizzard and their children, Noah and Isaac of Greenville and Lindsay Jane Stewart of Paris, France.  He is also survived by his beloved “Tee”.

  Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 13, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Lanford-Gwinn Mortuary Chapel by Rev. Andy Watson.  Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Greer.

  The family has requested that no food or flowers be delivered to the home but instead make a memorial to the Spartanburg Humane Society, 150 Dexter Road, Spartanburg, S.C. 29303.

  The family would like to give a special thank you to Gail Fowler who has assisted the family for many years and throughout the last several days.
