Pete O’Shields

GREER- Wendell Matthew “Pete” O’Shields, 85, of 2990 Hwy. 101 South died Saturday, January 20, 2018 at Cottages at Brushy Creek Rehab. and Healthcare.

  A native of Spartanburg County, he was the son of the late Floyd and Eloise Jones O’Shields.  He was retired from Martha Franks Retirement Center in Laurens and a member of Sharon United Methodist Church.

  Surviving are his wife, Nancy Brockman Cox O’Shields of the home; one daughter, Dianne (Roger) Dill of Enoree; two sons, Donald (Jill) O’Shields of Spartanburg and Roger O’Shields of Woodruff; one stepdaughter, Rena (John) Rasor of Greer; one stepson, Mark (Becky) Cox of Reidville; one sister, Jackie Bailey of Woodruff; one brother, H.G. “Gus” O’Shields of Myrtle Beach; 6 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.  He was predeceased by a sister, Annie Janell O’Shields and two brothers, Ray Calvin “Speck” O’Shields and Russell Wayne “Rooster” O’Shields.

  Graveside services will be held Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Sharon United Methodist Church Cemetery by Rev. Bryson Williams.

  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Sharon United Methodist Church, 1421 Reidville Sharon Road, Greer, S.C. 29651.
