“Rudy” High
WOODRUFF- Rudolph Kenneth “Rudy” High, 84, of 427 Freestone Avenue passed away Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at Regional Hospice Home.
A native of Clarkton, N.C., he was the son of the late Thomas Jefferson and Bertha Caroline Gooden High. He was a member of Bellview Baptist Church, a U.S. Air Force Veteran having served in the Korean Conflict and was a retired employee with CSX Railroad in Charleston.
Surviving are his wife, Violet Burdette Godfrey Davis High of the home; one daughter, Angela (Dale) Bishop of Taylors and two grandchildren, Brandi Richardson and Justin Bishop; one great- granddaughter, Taylor Richardson; one sister, Dorothy Ballard of Wilmington, N.C.; two brothers, James (Kathleen) High of Jacksonville, Fla. and Harold High of Hamlet, N.C.; one stepdaughter, Tammy (Billy) Waddell of Woodruff; two stepsons, Carl (Vickie) Davis of Moore and John (Donna) Davis of Woodruff; two step-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sisters, Wilbur Grey Smith and Betty McKee.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, June 16, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Lanford-Gwinn Mortuary by Rev. Carey Caldwell. Interment will follow in Bellview Baptist Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 1:00-1:45 p.m. prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Regional Hospice Home, 686 Jeff Davis Drive, Spartanburg, 29303.
The family is at the residence.
