Amy Lynn (Lanford) Lister

    WOODRUFF- Amy Lynn Lanford Lister, 72, devoted wife of Charles Q. Lister, Sr. passed away peacefully at her home on the evening of May 18, 2023, after a brave, courageous battle with metastatic breast cancer.

  Born in Woodruff, SC on March 14, 1951, she was the daughter of the late Madge Kennedy Lanford and James Woodrow Lanford. Amy graduated from Woodruff High School and Greenville Technical College before moving to Washington, DC to work on the staff of Senator Strom Thurmond in the late 60’s. Upon her return to the local area, she worked for the same parent company at two sites in Greenville and Greer for 48 years. At her retirement, she was the most senior employee ever at Greer, having worked in a variety of roles at Fiber Industries, Celanese, Celanese Fibers Operation, Hoechst Celanese, Hoechst Diafoil, and Mitsubishi Polyester Film including Safety, Human Resources, Benefits, Recruiting, Films, and her last position as Quality Administrator.

  Amy was a strong, selfless champion among mothers, a dedicated wife, and a believer in loving and helping others. Left to cherish her memory are her husband Charles Q. Lister, Sr.; her sons, Jason Samuel (Lauren) Haney of Mount Pleasant, SC; Justin Cameron Haney of Woodruff; her beloved grandchildren Emma and Samuel Haney of Mount Pleasant, SC; her stepdaughter, Tara Roberts of Simpsonville, SC; her step-grandchildren, Justin Preston of Clearwater, FL, Cody and Brianna Roberts of Mauldin, SC, and Emilee Capps of Greer, SC; her sister, Trudy (Neal) Grissom of Pace, FL; and her niece, Dana Grissom of DeFuniak Springs, FL. She was predeceased by son, Jody Andrew Haney of Simpsonville, SC and her stepson, Charles Q. Lister, Jr. of Williamston, SC.

  Amy is a member of Bellview Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held at Bellview Baptist Church at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, May 21, 2023, with visitation prior to the service beginning at 1:30 p.m.
