WOODRUFF- Sarah Anne Gossett Richards, 78, went home to be with the Lord, Friday, October 23, 2020 at Spartanburg Medical Center.

She was born in Spartanburg County, June 15, 1942 to the late Lloyd Daniel and Emma Jane Hughes Gossett. She was a member of Crestview Baptist Church and was a homemaker.

Surviving are her husband of 61 years, Harold Evins Richards of the home; one daughter, Kim (Steve) Hughes of Roebuck; one son, Tim (Sonya) Richards of Greer; two sisters, Hazel Smith of Enoree and Carrie Jamison of Woodruff; 3 grandchildren, Emma (Mike) Jauch, Colt Hughes (Jordan Garner) and Trevor Richards (Elizabeth Wrobel); a great-grandchild Baby J is expected to arrive December 3rd. She was predeceased by three sisters, Juanita Simmons, Leola Grubbs and Myrtle Gossett.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday, October 26, 2020 at 3:00 p.m. at the Lanford-Gwinn Mortuary Chapel by Rev. Jackie Ray and Mr. Jeff Simmons. Interment will follow in the First Presbyterian Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 1:30 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, Tennessee, 38105.

Due to COVID 19 it is requested that face masks and social distancing be practiced during the visitation and funeral service.
