John Robert “Bobby” Davis, 90, passed away June 27, 2026, at Northside Hospital in Lawrenceville GA.

Born July 31, 1935, in Augusta, GA. he was a son of the ate T.K. and Lois Davis. He was raised in North Augusta and Enoree, SC and attended Woodruff High School graduating in 1953 and Furman University in 1957. Upon graduating from Furman, he was commissioned and a 2nd Lt. in the U.S. Army Reserves and served on active duty for training in Ft. Bliss, TX and Ft. Jackson in Columbia.

He married Marcelle Yarborough in 1955. He has multiple employers early on, but the last 32 years of his work career was at The Centers of Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta.

In addition to his wife he is survived by sons, Gary (Kendra) of Stone Mountain, GA., Kirby of Jacksonville, FL., Mark (Denise) of Monument, CO., Lee (Karen) of Canton, GA.; grandchildren, Whitney White (Brian, Hannah Cannington (Kyle), Gillian Willingham (Dustin); step-grandchildren, Stephanie Cook (Brian), Joseph Collins; 3 great-grandchildren; brother, Mike Davis of Peachtree City, GA and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be 11:30 a.m. Wednesday July 1, 2026, at Lanford-Gwinn Mortuary Chapel with Rev. John Huckaby officiating. Interment will follow in Greenhaven Memorial Gardens.
