Carrie Elizabeth Jamison, 95, of 163 Poole Street Ext., Woodruff, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on June 14, 2024.
Carrie was born July 7, 1928, in the Walnut Grove Community to Lloyd and Emma Gossett. Family and her undying faith in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ were the cornerstones of her life. Living to see 5 generations she was predeceased by her husband William Jamison, Sisters Juanita Pete Simmons, Ann Richards, Leola Grubbs, Myrtle Gossett, her son Donnie Moore, and Granddaughter Wendy Fletcher. She is survived by her sister Hazel Smith, four daughters, Brenda Fletcher (Ted), Kathy Brown (Alvin), Franki Falcon, and Nancy Crowe. She was blessed to share her faith with a large loving family. Any conversations with her involved stories of her ten grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, and her five great-great-grandchildren.
After the death of her father, she helped raise her younger sisters at a young age. She worked in the textile industry from an early age and retired as a master embroidery inspector. She loved all children and would frequently feed any child in need. With a never-ending sense of humor, she was always quick witted with comebacks & always ready to provide a good scare. Laughs and love abound in her home. She created a family environment in which a friendly game of redneck volleyball or tennis racquet bumble bee swatting would spontaneously break out. If you knew Granny, you knew love, and she will be missed dearly.
Never to be found with idle hands, she found joy in even the smallest activities and enjoyed helping and doing things for her loved ones. Truly she looked well to the ways of her household, never ate the bread of idleness, and her children rose and called her blessed.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 17, 2024, at 4:00 p.m. at Lanford-Gwinn Mortuary Chapel in Woodruff, South Carolina. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 3:45 p.m. prior to the service. The interment will be at Greenhaven Memorial Gardens. The family is at the home of her daughter, Nancy Crowe at 580 Peanut Rd Woodruff, SC.
