Charles L. Foster
Charles “Charlie” Foster went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 06, 2021.
He was born in Woodruff July 19, 1927, to the late John L. and Elizabeth Wiggins Foster and the husband of the late Dorothy Foster. He graduated from Woodruff High School at the age of seventeen.
His military service was with U.S.M.M. and the US Air Force from 1945-1947.
In his early years he was employed by the C.& W.C. and Atlantic Coastline Railroads. He later worked for Hercules Chemicals Company and retired from Hoechst Fibers.
His hobbies were his Keyboard (Musical), he was an Avid Bass Fisherman and was “Not So Good Golfer” (His own words) and he loved listening to the Bee Gee’s
Survivors include 2 step-daughters, Donice Redd (Jimmy deceased) and Traci Evans (Bryan); step-grandchildren, Brian Redd and Zachary Evans; 3 sons; Jimmy (Donna) Foster, Donald (Betsy) Foster and Philip Foster.
Deceased relatives include; sisters, Alice Morgan and Aylene Wood; brothers, Harold Foster, Paul Foster, Melvin Foster, and Stephen Foster.
Charles was a born again Christian and a member of Gateway Baptist Church. His motto was: ”Love Everyone and Hate No One”
Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 11, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Lanford-Gwinn Mortuary Chapel by Rev. Fred Quidley and Rev. Tim Ramsey. Interment will follow at Greenhaven Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. prior the service.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
