Cherry “Cheri” T. Pridgen
Cherry “Cheri” Taylor Pridgen,62, of Woodruff went home to be with Jesus on Thursday, July 18, 2024, at Spartanburg Medical Center.
She was born July 1, 1962, in Savannah, Georgia, and shortly after, was adopted by the late Wilbur “Bill” Taylor and Bertha Margaret Owings Taylor. She was the widow of her beloved husband, Lionel Eric Pridgen. She was a dental assistant for over 20 years with Crowns Now Dentistry. She was a woman of endless talent, including ceramics, wood working, soap making, gardening, and above all, cooking. If you knew Cheri, you knew her love and passion for cooking and feeding anyone that she could.
Surviving is her daughter, Shannon Melton and her fiancé, Sam Slaughter of Greenville; one stepdaughter, Ashley Melton, and her precious girls Mila and Madi of Fort Meyers, Florida; one brother, Andy Taylor (Tina) of Woodruf; four half-sisters, Jeni Leaphart of Leesville, Lischer Nanney of Columbia, Wendy Freeman of Columbia, and Page Spell of Columbia.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Thursday, August 1, 2024, at 7:00 p.m. at Lanford-Gwinn Mortuary by Reverend Doug Huntsinger.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Woodruff Area Soup Kitchen, P.O. Box 352, Woodruff, S.C. 29388.
