Cora Mae Franklin
ROEBUCK- Mrs. Cora Mae Smith Franklin, 95, and the widow of William Wayne “Whitey” Franklin
went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 19, 2022, at her home.
She was born in Roebuck on October 26, 1926, to the late Joseph Layton and Nellie Lancaster Smith. She was a graduate of Cecil’s Business College, member of New Hope Baptist Church and a retired employee with the Department of Social Services in Spartanburg for over 35 years.
Surviving are three daughters, Jane Jolley (Jack) of Roebuck, Ann Casey (Jerry-deceased)) of Roebuck and Maxine Craft (Jeff) of Union; two sisters, JoAnn Montgomery, and Rosa Graham both of Roebuck. Also surviving are six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren
In addition to her parents, husband, and son-in-law, she is predeceased by a sister, Edna Layton.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 O’clock on Thursday, March 24, 2022, at New Hope Baptist Church, 11841 Hwy. 56, Enoree, officiated by Rev. Jimmy Farmer. Burial will be in New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Brian Casey, Brad Casey, Judson Craft, Matthew Craft, Joseph Craft and Kenneth Montgomery
The family will receive friend from 6:00 until 8:00 PM on Wednesday, March 23rd at Lanford-Gwinn Mortuary.
