David DeShields

CROSS ANCHOR- David P DeShields, Jr., age 58 of Cross Anchor passed away on Monday June 27th, 2022.  He was the loving husband of Donna Brown DeShields of the home.

  Born in Cross Anchor, he was the son of Glenda DeShields and the late Pete DeShields of Enoree. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and was formerly employed with Richards Construction of Woodruff as a Heavy Equipment Operator.

  In addition to his wife, he has three children, Chase Teague (Sarah) of Belton, Madison DeShields of Spartanburg and Amber DeShields of Atlanta.  He has a sister Margaret Switzer (Montolla) of Cross Anchor and Chris DeShields (Caroline) of Enoree. He has a sister-in-law Margaret Davis Ruse (Michele) of Spartanburg. He also had two special brother-in laws Mark and Curtis Davis of Enoree. He also had several nieces and nephews as well that meant the world to him.

  In addition to his father, he was predeceased by a very special niece Danielle DeShields and his loving grandmother (mom) Eva Waldrep DeShields.

  Anybody that had the pleasure of being around David knew that he was an outside person. He enjoyed building things and helping people.  He was big hearted person that will leave a legacy of being that go to person.  He adored his babies Riley, Biscuit and Hitlary.  He just loved life.

  Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 30, 2022, at 4:00 p.m. at Lanford-Gwinn Mortuary Chapel by Pastor Hilton Hunter.

  Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 29, 2022, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Lanford-Gwinn Mortuary in Woodruff.

  In Lieu of Flowers, his family has asked that all donations be sent to Donna DeShields, 618 New Hope Church Road, Enoree, S.C. 29335 to help her in the coming months.
