Dorothy Bayer Obituary

Dorothy Alice Bayer

Roebuck- Dorothy Alice Rohn Bayer, 72, of 205 Piedmont Dairy Road unexpectedly passed away Tuesday October 31, 2023, at her residence. She lived in Roebuck with her daughter and granddaughter.

She was born April 26, 1951, in Navarre, Ohio to the late Lee Warren Rohn and Alice Haberli Rohn. Dorothy was a retired operating room- registered nurse. She was an avid horseback rider, loved baking, and being around her family. She was a skeet and handgun shooter- the best in her age group. She was a medical volunteer with the rescue team with The California Department of State Parks. Dorothy was a faithful member of Church at the Mill, Woodruff Campus.

Dorothy had a smile that would light up a room and was a blessing to all she encountered. Her physical and mental strength was unsurpassed. She shared her love of horses, love and compassion for helping people, love of nursing, for excelling at anything you put your mind to, for being a loving and nurturing mother and Grammy, and her undying faith in God with her daughters Beth and Valarie. Her daughters credit their mother for being the women they are today. The lives she touched with kindness are immeasurable. The world is a better place for having Dorothy in it.

Surviving are her two daughters, Beth Ellen Fiszer and Valarie Bayer Simmons (Bryant); two sisters, Jane Rohn Purdy (Jeffery), and Cindi Rohn Vickers (Dick); one brother, Earl Lee Rohn (Trina); 2 grandchildren, Camille Elizabeth Fiszer and Henley Ellen Simmons; and many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, January 6, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Lanford-Gwinn Mortuary Chapel by Rev. Bill Thomasson.     A visitation will immediately follow the service.
