Elizabeth H. Bishop

CROSS ANCHOR- Elizabeth Haynes Bishop of Cross Anchor went home to be with the Lord, Thursday, December 29, 2022, at Rolling Green Village Healthcare.

  She was born January 13, 1926, in Spartanburg County to the late Fred and Goldie Layton Haynes and was the widow of Cecil Dean Bishop Sr., who passed away July 11, 2017.  She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church where she was church organist for over 70 years.  Mrs. Bishop was a retired Primary School Librarian.

  Surviving is one daughter, Marian Elizabeth Bishop Robinson (William) of Greer; two sons, Cecil Dean Bishop Jr. (Theresa) of Madison, Georgia, and Bruce Haynes Bishop of Cross Anchor; one brother, Keith E. Haynes (Judy) of Enoree; son-in-law, Ronnie Godfrey of Cross Anchor; 6 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.  She was predeceased by an infant son and infant daughter as well as one daughter, Beth Bishop Godfrey and a brother, Frederick Eugene Haynes II.

  Funeral services will be held Monday, January 2, 2023, at 2:30 p.m. at New Hope Baptist Church by Rev. Ronny Marmol and Rev. Steve Bishop.  Interment will follow at New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery with a committal by Rev. Danny Monroe.

  Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 2:15 p.m. prior to the service in the church sanctuary.

  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to New Hope Baptist Church, 11841 Hwy. 56, Enoree, S.C. 29335.

  The family is at their respective homes.
