Ernie M. Lambert
WOODRUFF- Ernie Matthew Lambert, 71, passed away Thursday, June 29, 2023, at his residence.
He was born April 14, 1952, in Spartanburg County to the late Albert and Ruby Williams Lambert. He was a former staff writer with the Spartanburg Herald Journal and was the editor of The Woodruff News (Hometown News) from 2003 until the time of its closing.
Surviving is his wife, Tina Davis Lambert whom he married July 25, 1975, of the home; one daughter, April Gregory (Tommy) of Enoree; one son, Mason Lambert of Spartanburg; grandchildren, Megan Henry (Chris), Adirana Steel (Kurtis), J.J. Price, Ruby Lambert, Atalya Lambert, and Silas Lambert; great-grandson, Mackenzie Lambert.
The family would like to give special thanks to the Woodruff High School Class of 1970 for all they did for Ernie through his illness. Ernie loved each one of them.
In lieu of flowers Ernie had a great love for trees, so as a memorial to him have one planted in his memory, if available poplars and oaks or contributions made to the American Cancer Society, 1010 East North Street, Greenville, S.C. 29601 or www.cancer.org
A visitation will be held Wednesday, July 5, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Lanford-Gwinn Mortuary.
The family is at the residence.
