Fred Cogdill

  Leonard Fred Cogdill, 74, of 8562 Valley Falls Road went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, September 5, 2021 at Mary Black Memorial Hospital.

  He was born October 22, 1946 to the late Grady Lee and Laura Virginia Bennett Cogdill.  He was a member of North Spartanburg Church of God and was a retired employee with DOT Packaging.  Mr. Cogdill was a U.S. Army Veteran having served in the Vietnam Conflict and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Campaign Medal and the Army Commendation Medal.

  Surviving are his loving wife, Bobbie Epps Cogdill of the home; two sons, Shane (Ava) Cogdill of Woodruff and Chris (Kim) Cogdill of Camden; 3 grandchildren; Jesse, Emily and Zoe; one great-granddaughter on the way.

  Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, September 9, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at North Spartanburg Church of God by Rev. Larry Flippo.  Interment will follow at Good Shepherd Memorial Park in Boiling Springs with a committal service by Rev. Vern LeBuhn.

  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to North Spartanburg Church of God, 2069 Chesnee Hwy., Spartanburg, S.C. 29303
