ROEBUCK- Gary Thomas Shelby, 83, of 1520 Morris Bridge Road passed away Saturday, May 29, 2021 at Spartanburg Medical Cener.

He was born May 31, 1937 in Startex, S.C. to the late Charles and Martha Kitchens Shelby. He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Roebuck. Mr. Shelby was a retired engineer having worked with Pratt & Whitney in Florida and retiring from Liquid Air in Spartanburg. He was a U.S. Coast Guard Veteran.

Surviving are his wife, Ann Atkins Shelby of the home; two daughters, Martha Jolley (Tommy) of Roebuck and Becky Hoover (Mark) of Pauline; one son, Darby Shelby of Illinois, one sister, Susie Smith of Virginia; one brother, Neal Shelby of Virginia; 8 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Emmanuel Baptist Church by Rev. Frankie Taylor. Interment will follow at Heritage Memorial Gardens, Roebuck.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Emmanuel Baptist Church, 3000 Stone Station Road, Roebuck, S.C. 29376.
