WOODRUFF- Gennieve (Genny) Kernells Morrison, 86, wife of Robert Kenneth Morrison passed away Monday, February 7, 2022, at TerraBella Senior Living in Spartanburg.

  Gennieve, daughter of the late Luther Clyde and Sarah Frances Kernells, was born August 20, 1935, in Spartanburg County.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Woodruff, where she was a member of the Winsome Sunday School Class.  She worked as a bookkeeper at Armstrong Textiles for many years before she retired.

  In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Chris Benfield of Boiling Springs; two grandchildren, Madison Benfield of Fort Mill and Matthew Benfield of the home; one sister, Joyce Kernells McAbee of Woodruff; numerous nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her brother, Winfred Kernells and two infant children.

  Graveside services will be held Thursday, February 10, 2022, at 2:00 P.M. at Greenhaven Memorial Gardens by Rev. Andrew Shull.

  Visitation will immediately follow the service at the graveside.

  Gennieve’s family wishes to express special thanks to the staff of TerraBella Senior Living and Interim Healthcare Hospice of Greenville for the excellent care given to her.

  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of Woodruff, 801 Cross Anchor Road, Woodruff, S.C. 29388.
