Gregory Lloyd France
MOORE- Gregory Lloyd France, 69, of 443 North Sweetwater Hills Drive went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, September 12, 2023, at Prisma Health Greenville Memorial Hospital.
He was born May 29, 1954, in Montebello, California to the late Thomas William France and Ruth Ann Sherman France. He was a member of Summit Church Spartanburg where he was a current Deacon and served on the Hospitality Team. He was a retired employee with BMW and served in the U.S. Army and the U.S. Air Force.
Surviving is his wife, Barbara Pingel France of the home; one son, Johnny Franklin France of Boiling Springs; one daughter, Elizabeth Cartee (Randall) of Winston-Salem, North Carolina; two stepdaughters, Sarah Keels (Dr. Josh) of Duncan and Sheila Pliner of Iowa; one stepson, Jeremiah Rossmanith (Erin) of Iowa; two brothers, Carlton S. France of Simpsonville, and James J. France of Cross, South Carolina; 9 grandchildren; 8 step-grandsons and 1 step-great grandson. He was predeceased by a son Gregory Lloyd France Jr. and two brothers, Thomas Willam France Jr. and David Russell France.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, September 17, 2023, at 3:30 p.m. at Summit Church Spartanburg by Dr. Josh Keels and Rev. Kyle Cayton. Interment will follow at Abner Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, 2461 Abner Creek Road, Greer.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 3:15 p.m. prior to the service in the church sanctuary.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Summit Church Spartanburg, 622 Alamo Street, Spartanburg, S.C. 29303.
