John “Jack” Bretton Behrle,78, of 366 Shallowford Drive, Boiling Springs, S.C. went home to be with the Lord, Friday, June 26, 2026, at his residence.
He was born July 11, 1947, in Port Orchard, Washington to the late Walter Behrle and Beverly Jean Totten Behrle. He was a member of the Woodruff Church of God. He retired from Home Depot where he designed custom kitchens and was gifted in woodworking, at one time owned his own furniture store. Mr. Behrle served as an E-5 in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War and he also served as an inventory supply officer in the U.S. Navy.
Surviving is his wife, Violet Kitts Behrle of the home; one son, Brett (Liz) Behrle of Crescent City, California; two daughters, Linda Kitts Hochstetler (James) of Kannapolis, North Carolina and Dannell Ritter (Shaun) of Marshall, Michigan; grandchildren, Jordan, Kyle, Gavin, Khrystina (Jeff), Matthew (Alexis), Trevor, Tim, Jacob and Aria; great-grandchildren, Jidenna and Keana, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a daughter, Sarah Stevens; two brothers, Skip Behrle and Neil (Kathy-living) of Camas Valley, Oregon.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 2, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at the Woodruff Church of God by Rev. Jonathan Knight and Rev. Michael Coward. The interment will take place on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at the Salisbury National Cemetery in Salisbury, North Carolina.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. prior to the service in the church sanctuary.
