WOODRUFF- Miriam Jacqueline “Jackie” Bailey, 82, of 112 Cedar Lane went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, September 1, 2024, at her home.

  She was born October 20, 1941, in Spartanburg County to the late Floyd Gus O’Shields and Eloise Jones O’Shields. She was first married to the late David Simmons.  She was a member of Selma Baptist Church and was a retired records clerk with Woodruff City Police Department.

  Surviving is her husband, David Joe Bailey of the home; two sons, Britt Simmons of Woodruff and Marty Simmons (Shirlene) of Woodruff; 4 grandchildren, Brad, Brandon, Casie and Paige; 1 great-grandchild, Cheyenne; one great-great-granddaughter, Blakeleigh.  In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by 1 sister, Jenell O'Shields and 4 brothers, H.G. O'Shields, Pete O'Shields, Russell "Rooster" O'Shields and Calvin "Speck" O'Shields.

  Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 5, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. at Lanford-Gwinn Mortuary by Rev. Carrol Caldwell.  Interment will follow at Greenhaven Memorial Gardens.

  Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. prior to the service.

  Serving as pallbearers, Darryl Dawkins, Benjamin Price, Chris Manley, Marion Simmons, Wesley Sutton and Tommy O’Shields.

  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Selma Baptist Church, 850 Lawson Road, Woodruff, S.C. 29388.

  The family is at the residence.
