James Allen Byars Sr.

GRAY COURT- James Allen Byars,74, of 1063 Sweetbriar Road passed away Monday, February 12, 2024, at his residence.

  He was born August 5, 1949, in Greer to the late Luther Allen and Hattie Belle Howell Byars.  He was a retired Electrician and attended Fountain Inn Church of God.

  Surviving is his wife, Myrtie McKinney Byars of the home; one daughter, Sarah (Chase) Teague of Belton; three sons, Brian (Joy) Byars of Summerville, Darrell Byars of Mauldin and Gabriel Byars of the home; one brother, Doug Byars of Willow Spring, North Carolina; 3 grandchildren, Nikki, Austin and Cadance.  He was predeceased by a son, James Allen Byars Jr., a grandson, Matthew Byars, a great-grandson, Landon Hartman and a brother, Barry Byars.

  A Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, February 16, 2024, at 12:00 p.m. at the Woodruff Church of God by Rev. Jonathan Knight and Rev. Jamie Hughes.

  Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. prior to the service.
