James Rufus Laurence

ENOREE- Rufus Laurence, age 82, of 450 Charles Street passed away on Saturday, June 17, 2023.

He was born February 29,1940, in Spartanburg County to the late Charles Manley and Annie Jo Wardell Laurence.

Rufus was a member of Antioch Baptist Church and retired from Textile Management.

He is survived by his wife, Dianne Fulmer Laurence of the home; two sons, Charles Stevens Laurence (Shannon) of Mayo and Joel King Laurence (Teri) of Aiken; one stepson, William Reynolds of Camden;

two grandchildren, Sarah and Sydnie.

In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by two sons, John David Laurence and James Rufus “Jimmy” Laurence II, a brother, Ronald L. Laurence and a grandson, Kristopher Laurence.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, June 22, 2023, at Lanford-Gwinn Mortuary, officiated by Rev. Danny Garrett and Rev. Kevin Sontag.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 until 1:45 pm prior to the service.
