Jerry Aaron Vaughn, affectionately known as Tator, Bubba and Bigun, was born on June 6, 1978, in Greenville, South Carolina. He passed away on January 24, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love and passion for life. Jerry was an outgoing and straightforward individual with a passionate spirit and a sharp sense of humor. His greatest pride came from his children. His 7-year-old son, Kalevra Vaughn, lived with him. Other children include Ben Mcelrath, Maverick King, and Bella Nevaeh.
He dedicated much of his life to building and racing amateur race cars in memory of others and supporting various charitable causes, showcasing his generous nature. He enjoyed working with several towing companies in the area and made several best friends in that area of work. An avid motorsports enthusiast, Jerry found joy in racing at dirt tracks and was a devoted fan of NASCAR racing. His love for authentic Mexican and Chinese food was matched only by his fondness for the classic TV show "Dukes of Hazzard."
He is survived by his father, James B. Vaughn; stepmother, Dulcenaid Vaughn; mother, Teresa Pace; stepfather, Sherman Pace; brother, Bradley Vaughn; sister, Stephanie Vaughn; brother, Benjamin Vaughn; and stepsister, Angelica McFall; and children Ben Mcelrath, Maverick King, Bella Nevaeh, and Kalevra Vaughn.
Jerry's vibrant spirit and love for his family and community will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Rest in peace, Tator-bug, and tell everyone we’ll meet ya’ll up there in due time. Love you, Jerry. We will always miss you.
The family will be receiving friends on Sunday, February 2nd, 2025 from 1:00pm to 3:00pm at Lanford-Gwinn Mortuary located at 257 North Main Street in Woodruff, SC 29388, with a memorial service following, beginning at 3:00pm.
