J.I. Taylor Jr.
ENOREE- John Irving “J.I.” Taylor Jr., 100, formerly of 104 Taylor Town Road went home to be with the Lord, Thursday, December 28, 2023, at Rosecrest Community Residential Care.
He was born May 6, 1923, in Spartanburg County to the late John Irving Taylor Sr. and Eunice Gentry Taylor and was the widow of Canary Smith Taylor. He was the oldest member of Cedar Shoals Baptist Church where he served as a former Deacon. Mr. Taylor was a retired textile employee and a farmer.
Surviving is one son, Roger Taylor (Devra) of Enoree; one sister, Hazel Hawkins of Enoree; one brother, Lewis Taylor of Enoree; 4 grandchildren, Jeff Taylor, Josh Taylor, Jeremy Taylor and Jason Taylor; 11 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-granddaughter. He was predeceased by a son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Nancy Boggs Taylor, 1 brother and 4 sisters.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 4, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. at Cedar Shoals Baptist Church by Rev. Andy Moore and a Eulogy by Mr. Jeff Taylor, “My Best Friend”. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers, Roy Sample, Joe Hughes, Perry Suddeth, Bee Corley, Shane Taylor and Jacob Morrow.
The family is at their respective homes.
