John “Uncle Jake” Weathers

ENOREE- John Wilson “Uncle Jake” Weathers, 77, of 14838 Hwy. 221, passed away Friday, September 3, 2021 at Prisma Health Laurens County Hospital.

He was born October 1, 1943 to Sara Walker Weathers of Enoree and the late Dennis Green Weathers. He was a member of Antioch Baptist Church and a retired security guard with Abco. He was a U.S. Marine Corporal and served in the Vietnam Conflict.

Surviving are one son, Jason; his life-long best friend, Keith Casey; 5 nieces, 5 nephews, 8 great-nephews, 7 great-nieces, 34 great-great nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Frances Weathers Gregory and a brother, Willie Earl Weathers. He was also predeceased by a great-great-nephew, Kalonn River West.

Funeral services will be held Friday, September 10, 2021 at 4:00 p.m. at Antioch Baptist Church by Rev. Danny Garrett. Interment will follow at Greenhaven Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, September 9, 2021 at the Lanford-Gwinn Mortuary.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Martha Franks Baptist Retirement Community, 1 Martha Franks Drive, Laurens, S.C. 29360.

The family is at the residence, 14838 Hwy. 221, Enoree.
