Johnny Ray Waddell
WOODRUFF- Johnny Ray Waddell,75, of 239 Woodman Avenue went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, June 7, 2026.
He was born January 23, 1951, in Spartanburg County to the late Charles Waddell and Myrtle Henderson Waddell Knighton. He attended the Woodruff Church of God and was a retired employee with MEMC and the City of Woodruff Parks and Recreation.
Surviving is his wife, Paula Smith Waddell of the home; two sons, Matthew Waddell (Holly) of Boiling Springs and Johnny Ray Waddell II of Georgia; one sister, Becky Wood of Woodruff; one brother “Sonny” Waddell (Sherry) of Woodruff; a granddaughter reared in the home, Brooklyn Adams; three stepdaughters, Jerri Adams of Moore, Sharon Hall of Fairmont and Karen Harris of Fairmont; 18 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by two daughters, Angie Ruth Waddell and Tessie Marie Waddell and a brother, Tony Waddell.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at 2:30 p.m. at the Woodruff Church of God officiated by Rev. Jonathan Knight. Interment will follow at Bethel Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers, Tiffany DeYoung, Lisa Fortenberry, Brooklyn Adams, Cory Hunt, Brandon Waddell and Dawson Waddell.

Visitation will be held from 1:30 p.m. to 2:15 p.m. prior to the service.
