Ken Martin
WOODRUFF- Herman Kenneth “Ken” Martin, 97, of 540 Briarcliff Drive went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, July 31, 2024, at Pelham Medical Center.
He was born October 5, 1926, in Harris, North Carolina to the late Dock and Elvira Hall Martin and was the widower of Rebecca Frances “Becky” Martin (April 22, 2018). He was the oldest member of Cornerstone Baptist Church and was a retired supervisor with Reeves Bros. Mills Mill Plant formerly in Woodruff. He was a U.S. Army Veteran having served in World War II as a paratrooper. Ken was a great handyman and could fix anything and was an avid sports fan of all types.
Surviving is one daughter, Karen Martin Caldwell of Woodruff; one son, Herman Kenneth “Kenny” Martin Jr. of Woodruff; one granddaughter, Kendra Caldwell Randolph (Michael) of Mooresboro, North Carolina; four great-grandchildren, Molly Randolph, Ryken Randolph, John Michael Randolph and Kayla Cullum (Brandon); two great-great-grandchildren, Viviana Cullum and Logan Cullum. He was predeceased by his son-in-law, Niles Leslie Caldwell Jr. (July 20, 2021); three sisters, Dorothy Parris, Marjorie Martin and Annie May Martin; two brothers, Leonard Martin and Henry Martin.
Funeral services will be held Monday, August 5, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Lanford-Gwinn Mortuary Chapel by Rev. Tyson Schoch and Rev. Doug Huntsinger. A private family interment will follow at Stribling Cemetery, Woodruff.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service.

The family is at the home of his daughter, Karen Caldwell, 336 Meadowbrook Avenue, Woodruff.
