Kenneth “Billy” Fowler
Kenneth “Billy” Fowler went home to be with the Lord Thursday, December 25, 2025.
He was born March 12, 1949, in Spartanburg County to Alfred Fowler and Annie Mae Pritchard Fowler. He was of the Baptist faith, Billy had a love for racing and golf. He drag raced on local drag strips for many years. He later joined Larry Pearson’s Busch Series pit crew and then Bud Moore’s NASCAR Cup Team. He served many years in NASCAR, traveling across the United States, making many friends, and participated in the first NASCAR event held in Japan- the NASCAR Suzuka Thunder Special- an exhibition race held on November 24, 1996. Billy was a loving father and grandfather.
Surviving are his daughters, Tonya Pender of the home, and Sheri (Rodney) Green of Roebuck; grandsons, Tyler (Catherine) Green, Taylor (Ebony) Green, and Hayden Green; six grandchildren, London, Skylar, Jaxon, River, Rilee, and Whit Green. He is also survived by his brothers, Eddie Fowler and Carl Fowler; sisters, Susie Dye, Darlen Berry and Sallie (Terry) Wyatt. He was predeceased by his daughter, Crystal; grandsons, Master Brown and Christopher Noel; son-in-law, Craig Pender; brothers, Alvin Fowler, Danny Fowler and Gary Fowler; and sister, Diane Fowler.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Monday, December 29, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. at Lanford-Gwinn Mortuary Chapel in Woodruff, officiated by Rev. Joe White.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. prior to the service.
