Lisa Crowe Obituary

Lisa Louise Crowe

Our beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, niece, cousin, and friend, Lisa Louise Hurd Crowe,42, left behind a legacy of love, courage, patience, loyalty, humor, humility, work ethic, goodness devotion, and kindness with her heart of gold on Tuesday, March 26, 2024.

She was born on February 3, 1982, in Lexington, Kentucky to the late Buck and Imogene Bond Hurd whom she remembered daily with such admiration and love.

On September 2, 2006, Lisa married the love of her life, Gerry (Gerald Eugene Crowe) in a backyard wedding, in Charleston, S.C.  They were most certainly an example of God’s desire for marriage.

Lisa’s life, though cut shorter than each of us can comprehend, was filled with such a powerful impact on everyone that knew her.  Her greatest accomplishment in her lifetime (in her own words) was “Mothering my Children”, her precious girls, Aubrey and Harper Grace and stepdaughter, Rochelle.  She served her husband, Gerry by managing their home and family while encouraging him with a grateful heart for leading them so well.  She had a love for anything, owls and cows, and the colors purple and teal.  Her joy and laughter would light up a room everywhere she went.

She was a member of the Woodruff Seventh Day Adventist Church where she was baptized by Pastor Bill Strong.

Lisa leaves behind, husband of almost 18 years, Gerry, daughters, Aubrey, Harper Grace and stepdaughter, Rochelle Crowe; sister-in-law, Debi Sprouse (Woody), a special niece, her best friend, Jenna McGowan (Reid), nephews, Nicholas Childers (Brittney), Nathan Randall (Chloe) great nephew, Rowan McGowan and great-niece, Emery McGowan.  She also leaves behind many cousins and family from her birthplace, Kentucky.  She was predeceased by her parents, Buck and Imogene Bond Hurd and her in-laws, Pete, and Anne Crowe.

Lisa will be missed greatly here on this earth but the inspiration of who she was and how she lived her life will be remembered with great admiration.  To sum it up how she lived, it could not be said any better than by her favorite scripture 1 Corinthians 16:14, Do everything in love.

The family would like to thank Josh and Amber Woods and Pastors Josh Dietrich, Bill Strong, and Benjamin Kovach, as well as Janelle Dietrich and the ladies of the church for the kindness they have each bestowed on our family during this time.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, March 30, 2024, at 4:00 p.m. in the Spartanburg Church sanctuary.  Pastor Josh Dietrich of the Woodruff Church and Pastor Bill Strong will lead out in the service.  Visitation will begin at 3:30 p.m. Everyone is invited.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Eddlemon Adventist Christian Academy, (In Memory of Lisa Crowe), 1217 John B. White Sr. Blvd., Spartanburg, S.C. 29306 or the Spartanburg Pathfinder Club.
