Lounell M. Armstrong

GRAY COURT- Lounell Manly Armstrong, 87, formerly of 3184 Bramlett Church Road passed away Tuesday, July 27, 2021 at NHC of Laurens.

  She was born April 26, 1934 to the late James Tyra and Mamie Louise Rogers Manley and was the widow of Harper H. Armstrong.  She was a member of Bramlett United Methodist Church where she was a choir member and church organist for over 18 years, she was also a member of the Jeanette Duckworth Sunday School Class and the United Methodist Women’s Organization.  She was a 1952 graduate of Woodruff High School and was a retired accountant with Kellett Oil Company.

  Surviving are one daughter, Polly Griffin of Laurens; two sons, Ronald Armstrong of Missouri City, Texas and Jamie Armstrong of Gray Court; one brother, Charles Manley of Gray Court; 9 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.  She was predeceased by three brothers, Rev. William David Manley, John Elford Manley and Harold Manley.

  A graveside service will be held Friday, July 30, 2021 at 9:30 a.m. at Bramlett United Methodist Church Cemetery by Rev. John Fahrney.

  A greeting of family and friends will immediately follow the service in the family life center.

  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Bramlett United Methodist Church Building Fund, 2043 Bramlett Church Road, Gray Court, S.C. 29645.

The family is at their respective homes.
