WOODRUFF- Lyle Frederick Purkhiser, 89, of 205 Mary Hanna Road passed away Sunday, March 8, 2020 at Richard M. Campbell Veterans Nursing Home.

A native of Minneapolis, Minnesota, he was the son of the late Frederick Dureski and Kay Poore Purkhiser. He was a retired mechanic and was a member of the Jehovah’s Witness and was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict.

Surviving are two daughters, Connie Pittman of Spartanburg and Sherry Westmoreland of Woodruff; two sons, Larry Purkhiser of Woodruff and Tommy Purkhiser of Woodruff; 8 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Wednesday, March 11, 2020 at 3:00 p.m. at the Lanford-Gwinn Mortuary Chapel by Everette McDonald.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Richard M. Campbell Veterans Nursing Home, 405 Belton Hwy., Anderson, S.C. 29621.

The family is at their respective homes.
