Marie J. Whitehead

  MOORE- Marie Jenkins Whitehead, 83, formerly of Moore went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, June 12, 2024, at McCall Hospice House in Simpsonville.

  She was born June 23, 1940, to the late Bill and Vera Marler Jenkins.  She was a retired employee with Springs Industries and was a member of Bethany Wesleyan Church.

  Surviving is one son, Joey (Cheryl) Parris of Easley; one brother, Johnny Jenkins (Cat) of Zirconia, North Carolina; 4 grandchildren, Jessica (Peter) Morey, Shawn (Brittany) Parris, Hannah (Aaron) Parris and Aaron (Christy) Parris; 4 great-grandchildren, Caleb Richey, Dylan Richey, Bentley Parris and Skylar McDermott.

  Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 15, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Bethany Wesleyan Church by Rev. Raymond Ford.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

  Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, June 14, 2024, at Lanford-Gwinn Mortuary.

  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Bethany Wesleyan Church, 501 Bethany Church Road, Moore, S.C. 29369.
