Merle Ford
Edna Merle Corn Ford, affectionately known as "Aunt Merle," passed away peacefully on December 30, 2024, in Jacksonville Beach, Florida. Born on April 7,1936 to Floyd and Clara Mae Corn, she lived a remarkable 88 years filled with cherished memories and meaningful connections. Merle was married to Calvin Ford for 53 years. Their example of love and commitment, and love for the Lord is a legacy that will live on in her nieces and nephews for the rest of their lives. She supported Calvin throughout his 20 years in the Air Force, living in Maine, Georgia, California, and Puerto Rico. They had two children Holly and Phillip who they loved unconditionally. Merle loved to sing, play the piano, dance, and shoot baskets; all of which she did until a few weeks before her death.
Merle was proceeded in death by her parents, husband, children and sisters. She is survived by three generations of nieces and nephews, who loved her dearly.
Funeral service will be graveside at Greenhaven Memorial Gardens at 11am on Saturday, February 1, 2024, in Woodruff, SC. Andy Watson, pastor of Emma Gray Methodist Church, in Woodruff, will be officiating.
