Michael M. Fleming
Michael Morton Fleming, 90, of Woodruff, South Carolina, passed away Friday, April 21, 2023, surrounded by close family.
Michael was born to Morton and Isabel Fleming, on February 18, 1933, in San Diego, California. He was a talented gymnast while attending San Diego State University, achieving his Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering, minoring in Mathematics. Shortly after college, he served as an officer in the United States Navy. Michael worked for various companies throughout his career in the field of pricing major contracts. He enjoyed sailing, working with animals at the zoo and taking long road trips around the country. His biggest passion was helping others and assuring they were taken care of. He will be truly missed by many people.
Michael is survived by his longtime companion, Loubell V. Canterbury, and his two children, Eric, and Celli. He is also survived by his brothers, Paul Fleming, Peter Fleming and his sister, Barbara Litt, as well as 4 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
There will be a local service Saturday, April 29, 2023, at 2:30 p.m. at Tyger River Presbyterian Church, 5961 Reidville Road, Moore, S.C. 29369.
A family and friends gathering will be held from 1:45 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. prior to the service.
