BUFFALO- William Michael “Mike” Lanford, 70, of 390 Putman Road passed away Sunday, May 19, 2024, at Prisma Health Greenville Memorial Hospital.

  He was born August 30, 1953, in Spartanburg County to the late Robert William “Bill” Lanford and Martha Jean Long Lanford.  He was a member of Putman Baptist Church and was a retired building inspector from Woodruff, Laurens, Simpsonville, and Union Counties.

  Surviving is his wife, Deborah Southard Lanford of the home; two sons, Joseph Lanford (Sydney) of Covington, Georgia, and Caden Jackson (Bri Buchannan) of Buffalo; one daughter, Carla Reilly (Jeff) of Oregon; two sisters, Lauri Bradley (Alan) of Woodruff and Billie Jean Rogers of Moore; one brother, Tracy Lanford (Mary) of Waterloo; two grandchildren, Lilly Lanford and Addie Buchannan.

  A Celebration of Life Service will be held Thursday, May 23, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. at Lanford-Gwinn Mortuary Chapel in Woodruff by Rev. Andrew Shull.

  Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. prior to the service.

  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Putman Baptist Church/Mission Fund, 3692 Buffalo-West Springs Highway, Buffalo, S.C. 29321 or First Baptist Church of Woodruff/Over and Above Fund, 801 Cross Anchor Road, Woodruff, S.C. 29388.
