WOODRUFF- Nancy Ward Snyder, 70, wife of Roger Snyder passed away peacefully with her family by her side, Thursday, April 13, 2023, at Regional Hospice Home.

  A native of Mason Hall, Tennessee, Nancy was the daughter of the late Robert Eric Ward Sr. and Virginia Glover Ward.  It was evident that she had a Godly servant’s heart through her work as a schoolteacher, a Sunday School Teacher, and other organizations.  She faithfully volunteered with Helping Hands Ministries of Woodruff, the Woodruff Baptist Association’s WMU, serving as a Band Mom for Woodruff High School and other servant roles for family and friends.

  Nancy was a longtime member of Switzer First Baptist Church where she served in many capacities over the years.  She enjoyed photography, flower gardening, and traveling, but the most important thing to her was time with family and friends.

  Also surviving with her husband are her three daughters, Ginna Snyder Chappell (Drew) of Woodruff, LeeAnn Snyder Toney (Marc) of Boiling Springs, and Sara Beth Snyder McGregor (Daniel) of Woodruff; four grandchildren, Allie Toney, Jacob Toney, Lilah Chappell, and Amelia Chappell; a sister, Ann Turner (Darrell) of Collierville, Tennessee; a brother, Robert “Bobby” Eric Ward Jr. of Palmersville, Tennessee; a special friend, Jennifer Chandler of Mason Hall, Tennessee and several nieces and nephews.

  Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday, April 16, 2023, at Lanford-Gwinn Mortuary, Woodruff.

  Funeral services will be conducted Monday, April 17, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at Lanford-Gwinn Mortuary Chapel by Rev. Tim Huckaby and Rev. Daniel Godfrey.  Interment will follow at Switzer First Baptist Church Cemetery with a Committal by Rev. Jimmy Skinner.

  The family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. Schwab, and the many other providers at Spartanburg Regional Gibbs Cancer Center, 3 Tower, and Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home.  We also appreciate all the prayers, cards, and messages sent to Nancy during her three-year battle with cancer.
