WOODRUFF- Otis Floyd Stewart,99, of 299 Edgewood Circle died Sunday, March 26, 2023, at the Presbyterian Communities of SC in Clinton.
  He was born February 21, 1924, in Dyer, Tennessee to the late T.E. “Jack” Stewart and Mattie Belle Stewart.  He was a veteran of World War II and a retired Naval Reserve Officer.  He was a graduate of Dyer High School in Dyer, Tennessee, and was a graduate of the University of South Carolina.  Mr. Stewart was a South Carolina State Professional Geologist and a retired 42-year employee with Zonolite, W.R. Grace.  He was highly instrumental in the development construction and operation of the vermiculite operations in Travelers Rest and Enoree.  Mr. Stewart for several years, oversaw both the Enoree and Libby, Montana mining operations.
  Mr. Stewart was a member of the First Baptist Church of Woodruff and a former longtime member of Emma Gray United Methodist Church in Woodruff.  Floyd served as Finance Chairman, Sunday School Teacher, a charter member of the Men’s Club where he was Chairman of the Board at Emma Gray United Methodist Church.  Mr. Stewart was a former member of the American Legion Post 158, Travelers Rest, and the Woodruff Sertoma Club.  He was a charter member of Three Pines Golf Club for 35 years and served as a carrier for Mobile Meals.
  Surviving is his wife, Cora Bledsoe Stewart; daughter, Jane Stewart Moore of Woodruff; son, James “Jim” Stewart formerly of Woodruff; 2 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.  He was predeceased by a son, Paul Riley Stewart who died September 11, 2018.
  Graveside services will be held Wednesday, March 29, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, 14050 East Wade Hampton Boulevard, Greer, S.C. by Rev. Andy Watson.
  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Spartanburg Humane Society, 150 Dexter Road, Spartanburg, S.C. 29303.
