WOODRUFF- Rebecca “Becky” Ruth Grubbs Godfrey,80 of 280 Glenn Drive, Country Estates went home to be with the Lord, Friday, June 6, 2025, at her home surrounded by family.

  She was born January 1, 1945, in Spartanburg County to the late Hampton Miles Grubbs and Mary Ruth Fowler Grubbs.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Woodruff.  She was a 1967 graduate of Limestone College and was a retired educator with District 4 Schools after 40 years of service having taught English at Woodruff Junior High School and Woodruff High School.

  Surviving is her husband, Ronald “Ronnie” Hunter Godfrey of the home; one daughter, Tara Baldisseroto (Pierpaolo) of Moore; one son, Mark Godfrey (Donna) of Woodruff; one brother, Thomas H. Grubbs of Chesnee; 4 grandchildren, Samantha, Ashleigh, Sophia and Alexander.  She was predeceased by a beloved aunt, Ella Fowler Patterson Slaughter.

  Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at First Baptist Church of Woodruff at 2:30 p.m. officiated by Rev. Andrew Shull.   Interment will follow at Greenhaven Memorial Gardens.

  Visitation will be held from 1:30 p.m.to 2:15 p.m. prior to the service in the church sanctuary.

  Serving as pallbearers Mark Godfrey, Keith Pearson, Eric Grubbs, Bruce Johnson, Scott Katrosh and Michael Metcalf.

  The family is at the residence.

  In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Woodruff Over and Above Fund, 801 Cross Anchor Road, Woodruff, S.C. 29388.
