Rex Frady Obituary

Rex M. Frady

ROEBUCK- Rex M. Frady, age 90, of 126 Anderson Drive, Roebuck passed away on Sunday, September 18, 2022, at Regional Hospice Home.

He was born in Spartanburg County on November 30, 1931, to the late Clyde “Runt” and Irene Bagwell Frady.  Rex was the Owner of Frady Asphalt & Paving Inc.; he attended Bethlehem Baptist Church and was a United States Army Veteran serving as a Military Police.

Rex loved to watch old western movies and football (super loud because of bad hearing).  He also loved eating at different restaurants with his friends, riding around in his truck and golf cart.  Rex liked going to job sites to see how they were going.  The week before his death he went to the Road 50 job site and was so happy with the work Keith did.  Rex always said Keith was the best operator in South Carolina.  He was proud of his granddaughter Nicole and how her music career had taken off and loved seeing her magazine articles and watching her music videos.  He was proud of Asheton’s time in service and getting to share their military stories.  He was proud that Asheton found Nick, because his favorite son-in-law would help out with odds and ends around the house.

Papa loved becoming a great grandpa to baby Cecil.  He was always amazed at how much Cecil could eat and got the biggest kick out of him playing at Papa’s.

Rex had a significant other, Theresa, she spent her time with him opening his daily cokes and candy bars, making sure he had everything he needed.  Theresa spent the last few weeks doing her best to keep him comfortable and at home.  The family appreciates everything she did for Papa and for giving him so much love and care.

He is survived by a son, David Keith Frady of Woodruff; two grandchildren, Nicole Lane Frady and Asheton Lea Frady Breland (Nick) and one great-grandson, Cecil Aaron Breland, and his Significant other, Theresa Fleming.  He was predeceased by his siblings, Abby Frady, Clyde Frady, James Frady, Mary Frady Theo, Sara Frady Timmons and Nell Frady Owens.  He was also predeceased by a son, Charles “Chuck” Frady.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 22, 2022, at Greenhaven Memorial Gardens officiated by Rev. Fred Quidley.

Visitation will be held at Lanford-Gwinn Mortuary 9:30 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. prior to the service.

The family is at their respective homes.
