Robert Jefferson “Bob” Hix Sr.

WOODRUFF- Robert Jefferson “Bob” Hix, Sr., 86, of 298 Edgewood Circle went home to be with the Lord, Friday, May 28, 2021 at Regional Hospice Home.

He was born September 18, 1934 in Madison County, Georgia to the late Bert Isaac and Edna Wade Hix. Mr. Hix was a U.S. Air Force Veteran of 20 years having served in the Vietnam Conflict and the Korean War. Mr. Hix also retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 20 years of service. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Woodruff where he served as a Sunday School Teacher, Deacon and RA Leader. Mr. Hix was also a member of the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Woodruff Lion’s Club and the Duke Power Volunteers.

Surviving are his wife, Gail Harrison Hix of the home; three sons, Robert Jefferson Hix, Jr. (Sandra) of Greenwood, Stanley Harrison Hix (Kathy) of Simpsonville and David Alan Hix (Laurie) of Columbus, Indiana; two sisters, Betty Hix Brown of Woodruff and Norma Hix Kelley (Doyle) of Easley; 7 grandchildren, Leigh Hix Blizzard (Joe) of Berea, Scott Hix (Abbey) of Simpsonville, Tec. Sgt. Adam Hix of Moody Air Force Base, Valdosta, Georgia, Matthew Hix of Mooresville, North Carolina, Amanda Hix of Kannapolis, North Carolina, Sara Hix of Charleston and Elijah Hix of Wears Valley, Tennessee; 7 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, May 30, 2021 at 3:30 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Woodruff by Rev. Andrew Shull. Interment will follow with Military Honors by the U.S. Air Force at the First Presbyterian Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 3:15 p.m. prior to the service in the church sanctuary.

Serving as pallbearers, Scott Hix, Adam Hix, Elijah Hix, Joe Blizzard, Ronnie Henson, Roger Brown, Lamar Hix and Coy Brown. Honorary Escort will be the Fellowship Sunday School Class.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of Woodruff/Over and Above Fund, 801 Cross Anchor Road, Woodruff, S.C. 29388.
